“This is the case of the United Nations, which emerged today, after a long absence of about three years of looting and vandalism on the island of Socotra by the UAE.
Instead of stepping out of the United Nations with a statement condemning what the island of Yemen is being exposed to, the United Nations has emerged unexpectedly and even surprisingly for many who have become tongue-tied.
The sudden departure of the United Nations from its silence and its suspension of what is happening on the island of Socotra escalates by saying: “The island of Socotra is listed on the UNESCO Heritage List and that the UAE has not deployed any of its forces on the island.” UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan’s spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, Stephen Dugrick, told a press conference yesterday at the permanent headquarters of the UN in New York that he was a strong shock to observers of the Yemeni situation.
While official Saudi and UAE media confirmed the existence of an escalation on the Yemeni island and major differences between the largest countries participating in the aggression against Yemen.
The United Nations’ contradictions with the confessions of Saudi and UAE officials reveal the extent to which the United Nations plays a serious role not only in the occupation of the island, but also in the blatant aggression against Yemen and the daily crimes committed by the countries of aggression against civilians.
